WANT TO IMPROVE YOUR CARDIO … LIFT WEIGHTS!

Adding stress to the body during training means your lunges will need to work harder and your heart will need to work more to help pump more blood carrying nutrients, oxygen and get rid of waste products.

Following from last weeks post discussing further about the benefits of strength training on the cardiovascular system. We dived a little deeper into the specific benefit of reducing the risk of heart disease but strength training has an impact on the full cardiovascular system.

Putting stress on the body is a good thing in a controlled state… It’s how we grow and how we evolve when we take part in strength exercises we are adapting the whole body, not just our muscles.

If you’re an endurance runner, or if you even feel like your overall fitness needs a boost then strength training will build muscular endurance and have a direct impact on your CV fitness.

Muscular endurance and the effectiveness of the blood flow through the body to the working muscles and systems meaning the muscles will receive more oxygen and nutrients while at the same time riding the body of waste products caused from training.

When your muscles are sufficiently filled with oxygen and nutrients, when we are able to take in more air to feed this demand we are giving our body the best possible opportunity to perform well.

When we put demand on the body to grow and develop this includes the development of all systems in the body.

When we learn to breath correctly in movement, when we learn how to control the breath, work with diaphragm and bracing breath we are improving our control and also the quality of each breath - allowing time for the body to take in and absorb more oxygen and deal with stress and demand of training.

Give your body the opportunity to develop more lean muscle mass, put it through states of stress to lead to adaptation, growth and the demand of a more efficient cardiovascular system - improve your overall health.
